I understand that finding the right provider can be challenging, especially when sharing sensitive information with a stranger. I hope this page helps you make an informed decision when you're ready to take that courageous step toward mental well-being, whether with me or someone else. Your bravery deserves recognition.
About me.
Hello & Welcome
I'm Martyna, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and the owner of Moonbeam Wellness LLC. My goal is to provide quality, whole-person psychiatric care. If you're unsure about psychiatric medication, we can work together to create a plan that feels right for you.
My Roots & Getting Here
I immigrated from Poland at an early age, which I believe fostered my curiosity and ability to connect with diverse people. Personal mental health struggles in my 20s taught me that continuing to distract myself from or denying these difficulties was unsustainable and seeking help is courageous. Although becoming a PMHNP wasn't my initial plan due to growing up surrounded by cultural stigma against mental health care, my experiences have fueled my passion for understanding and helping others.
Interests & Personal Touch
Life is messy, let’s figure it out together :). We are all a work in progress, and humor helps me navigate my own journey. I bring my authentic, compassionate, sometimes sarcastic self to my practice. I encourage you to be genuine so we can both work towards becoming more aligned versions of ourselves.
I'm a lifelong learner who enjoys yoga, reading, dark humor, documentaries, writing, ceramics, and music. I love spending time with my husband and our dog. I appreciate the witchy vibes of Salem and enjoy the unique community around my downtown office. If you’re looking for a Tarot card reading, a new plant baby, or a new crystal (or 5) before/after an appointment, you’re in the right place!!

I began my career in mental health during my undergraduate counseling program, where an internship running therapeutic groups in a pediatric inpatient psychiatry unit inspired me to pursue psychiatry. Before and during nursing school, I worked as a mental health specialist in residential and inpatient programs for adolescents and adults with eating disorders. My first role as a registered nurse was in a residential and CBAT program for youth in foster care, which deepened my passion for working with children and adolescents.
While completing my graduate studies, I gained experience as an RN in both eating disorder and general psychiatry inpatient units across Massachusetts, working with diverse populations. After becoming a licensed Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in 2019, I worked in an inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry unit. I then joined a Boston-based university’s student health center where I managed psychiatric medications for undergraduate and graduate students. Currently, I am expanding my private practice and working in various settings, including inpatient care, supportive residential living for young adults, and providing medication management for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy clients.

My approach.
As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I prioritize listening and forming a collaborative, therapeutic alliance with my patients. My educational journey began with a focus on art therapy, but later shifted to counseling, where I explored various therapeutic modalities. Early in my career, I encountered many individuals who described negative experiences with psychiatric medications, which led me to pursue advanced psychiatric nursing. I chose the nursing model over the medical model for my training for its person-centered, holistic approach, emphasizing healing over curing.
I view psychiatric medication as one of many tools for addressing mental health challenges, which often arise as natural responses to stressors beyond our control. I believe in being properly informed about treatment options to make educated decisions about care. Together with my patients, I develop personalized treatment plans at a comfortable pace, providing a safe space for growth and transformation. I am honored to support my patients on their journey to healing.
